Jesus said, “Anyone who comes to me I will never drive away.” — John 6:37
Highlands Presbyterian Church, as an expression of the Body of Christ, welcomes all persons who wish to know and follow the Lord Jesus Christ, regardless of sex, race, age, physical limitations, sexual orientation, or any other worldly condition.
We believe the church exists in part to demonstrate the quality of the new life made possible in Christ, in which dividing walls are broken down and human hostilities and fears lose their power. We seek to practice a gracious hospitality after the manner of Jesus, who sat at table with persons marginalized by the culture of his time and place, and who lifted them up as those who were leading the way into the Kingdom of God.
We therefore mourn and reject practices that exclude persons from welcome and acceptance in the household of God, and from the responsibility of Christian discipleship, on the basis of sexual orientation.
In the name of Jesus we extend an invitation to all people to hear the good news, to receive the gracious gift of forgiveness and renewal God offers in Jesus Christ, and with humble gratitude to offer up to God a life of love, expressed in worshiping God and serving neighbors.
“God is love, and those who abide in love abide in God, and God abides in them.” — 1 John 4:16b
